A Look at What’s Hot In Pot: January 2022
This month, we’re (virtually!) jet-setting around the world of weed (no COVID test required – *bleats of glee*!) bringing you some obscure strains that are sure to impress. Ready for take-off?
Beyond the big names of the Western world you’ve heard a million times before, are some hidden gems from every corner of this wonderful Green Planet.
Hailing from Spain this little beasty was initially bred by the great guys over at Royal Queen Seeds. A classic skunk mixed with a ruderalis makes this strain a hardy, strong plant built to grow well from the start. It’s an autoflower with typically times of 6 to 7 weeks which is damned impressive.
Users describe Royal Dwarf as an uplifting smoke that helps take the weight of the world from their shoulders. One reviewer even commented that it helped them reflect on the important things in life like their wife, children, and perhaps most keenly – chicken wings.
There’s a decent chance you’ve actually heard of this, but on the off chance anyone reading this hasn’t, we just had to include it. Originating in Mexico, its reputation is well earned through it’s wonderful 80/20 sativa/indica fusion. If you’ve ever been lucky enough to take a draw you’ll never forget the natural earthy flavors it’s renowned for.
Just like it’s namesake, this stuff isn’t easy to come by and actually grows far better outdoors than indoors. That might just be why it’s flavour is naturally so, well… natural. Just check out the reviews, people love this puff.
Not the best name if you want to encourage uptake, but we suppose it sticks in your head(!). This South African strain draws from perhaps the deepest heritage on Earth with cannabis cultivation on the African continent going on for well over 700 years. That’s a hell of a legacy.
Famed for the high levels of psycho-activity generated by its head high, expect the world to be a lot brighter after smoking Durban P. With a sticky, high resin content, this strain is actually becoming a firm favorite among home growers.
This one really is pretty dang rare. Lebanon though, has a rich history of cannabis growth, and interestingly legalized growing the glorious green crop for medicinal purposes in 2020. P3 may fit that profile pretty well – with CBD levels sometimes as high as a whopping 16%.
It’s a tough plant built for the dry climate it comes from, and all this toughness lends itself to re-flowering and in turn some seriously chunky cola clusters. If you ever get a chance, just dive right in, you’ll be one of the lucky few who get to sample its sweet flavor profile.
